Laser Treatments

What is Thermage?

The Thermage® system is a non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) therapy that can help smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger-looking appearance.. This is done into the dermal and subcutaneous layers of the skin.

How Long do Results Last?

For most patients, measurable results appear gradually in the two to six months following a single treatment session and can last for 1-2 years depending on your skin condition and aging process.*

*Recommended by physicians as part of an annual skin rejuvenation maintenance program.

What Should I expect During Treatment?

The Thermage® system incorporates vibration on the face and body treatments, which has been shown to help aid in patient comfort. You’ll feel a brief heating sensation when the treatment device’s tip touches your skin, followed by a cooling sensation to help protect your skin and minimize any discomfort. Some patients have temporary redness or minor swelling after treatment, but this usually goes away within 24 hours. Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following treatment. No special care is required afterward, aside from basic skin maintenance and broad-spectrum sunscreens as part of a regular skincare regimen.

Laser Hair Removal (Lumenis SplendorX): Custom Package

One of the most popular laser treatments performed is laser hair removal.  At Syracuse Plastic surgery the finest hair removal laser on the market is available with the SplendorX.

Hair removal can be painful, messy and ineffective. But SPLENDOR X laser hair removal with BLEND X technology is different. It combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths for a perfectly tailored treatment that is fast, effective and comfortable. It also features a unique square-shaped laser spot that safely covers every single inch of skin being treated.

SPLENDOR X is generally suitable for all skin tones – even tanned skin – and for all body areas and types of hair!

Thanks to BLEND X technology, you should need fewer sessions than with a treatment using just a single laser wavelength. It blends two laser wavelengths to harness their power and unique properties – and achieve better results. Also, a single laser may not be suitable for everyone. Lasers are effective when hair is at an early growth stage. Because not all hairs will be at the same stage at the same time, you’ll need multiple treatments to permanently remove the unwanted hair. Your practitioner will advise you on the number required.

Laser Vein Treatment: Starting at $75.00

Unsightly spider veins (blue or red) in your legs or superficial capitularies are often seen on the face can make you feel self-conscious.  Now, there’s a solution: the Nd:YAG laser, which works efficiently for the complete removal of unattractive veins.

Vaginal Rejuvenation

One of the newest laser treatments that women are discovering is vaginal rejuvenation.  The fractional CO2  laser gently and painlessly acts on the vaginal walls through a special scanner. This action creates indistinguishable micro-lesions that are required for the production of new collagen which rejuvenates the components of the vaginal mucosa and the urogenital structures.  Significant improvements can be seen even after the first treatment (although 3 are recommended the first time): the vaginal mucosa becomes more nourished and hydrated and the epithelium becomes thicker, more toned and elastic. The correct vaginal pH becomes re-established, which helps maintain its natural protective barrier and reduces the risk of infection. Enhanced vaginal tissues at the urethral opening may reduce problems with incontinence and improve sexual function.

Skin Resurfacing

If you want to treat skin damage, wrinkles, discoloration, pore size or just improve the overall tightness of your skin, Fractional CO2 or Ablative Erbium laser therapy may be an ideal solution for your needs. These treatments use a laser beam to resurface the skin.

  • The ablative Erbium: $150.00 for eyes and mouth | $300.00 for full face.

This laser resurfaces the top layers of skin to give the skin a more youthful, less sun-damaged appearance with short downtime. The Erbium Laser Treatment is a controlled resurfacing treatment that requires only 3-5 days of downtime. It is a minimal to full epidermal laser treatment that precisely removes the damaged outermost layers of the skin while promoting the growth of collagen.  The laser treatment exfoliates your skin’s tough, dull outer layer and reveals the healthier, brighter, and younger skin beneath. This treatment can improve pigmentation problems such as melasma and brown spots, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and sun damage. This skin resurfacing technique leaves you looking revitalized and allows you to reveal the inner you.

  • The fractional CO2: Multiple Packages Available

The laser delivers thousands of tiny columns of heat into the skin’s deepest layers causing improved tone, elasticity, and collagen production. The CO2 laser is commonly used to treat wrinkles, blotchiness or age spots, and scars from acne or other causes. It can be used on the entire face, under-eyes hands, arms, and neck. Certain other characteristics of your skin, such as its thickness and texture, may influence whether you are a good candidate for laser resurfacing. Some patients say they experience a mild “tightening” effect on the skin.

Photofacial/IPL: $150.00 Partial Face | $300.00 Full Face

If you’re considering a simpler skin rejuvenation treatment like a photofacial, the IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is aimed at reducing the signs and symptoms of sunspots, aging and redness, creating an overall smoother skin tone. The light pulse treatment may leave a bit of redness behind the day it is performed, but after that, you’ll see great results!

What can an IPL Laser Treatment Help with:
Large pores, Redness, Brown spots, Broken Blood Vessels, Rosacea, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Freckles, and Sun damage.

The Goal of an IPL Photofacial is to improve the overall color and texture of the skin.

The high-energy light waves are used to reduce or eliminate many of the common effects of aging, including facial wrinkles and skin discoloration. IPL light also encourages the production of collagen, a natural protein that fills in wrinkles, making the skin smooth and supple. With each treatment, the results of IPL photo rejuvenation become more evident.

Laser Tattoo Pigment Reduction: $150.00 Small (playing card) | $300.00 (playing card)

Do you have a tattoo that you regret? Syracuse Plastic Surgery offers laser tattoo reduction. Lasers are the most common method of tattoo reduction performed today and will reduce most tattoos in a safe, effective, and comfortable way.

Please keep in mind, we can only estimate the number of treatments it will take to completely reduce your tattoo. This is because 1. The wide variation of inks and pigmented materials used for tattooing, 2. The inks themselves are made up of a combination of different chemical substances, 3. The amount of ink placed in the tattoo, as well as the depth of pigment placement, varies from one tattoo to another, 4. The ability of your white blood cells to “gobble up and drag away” different pigment particles varies, 5. Other unknown factors. As a result of these many issues, we cannot be absolutely certain how your particular tattoo will respond. Most “amateur or homemade” tattoos will generally require about 5-7 laser treatments. “Professional” tattoos and those done by harder inks, tend to be more variable to response, and average about 8-12 laser treatments. Some stubborn tattoo inks may require even more treatments.
