Chemical Peels
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin to make skin smoother and to help reduce scarring and remove blemishes. Chemical peels can range from mild to strong. The strength of each peel is tailored to the patient. Peels can be combined with a facelift or other aesthetic services for additional improvement to your skin. What is a TCA Peel? A TCA peel is a solution of trichloroacetic acid (TCA)that is applied to remove the outer layer of skin.
This allows new, brighter, healthier skin to emerge. TCA chemical peels are commonly used to treat sun damage, facial wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and pigment abnormalities.
Are you a good candidate for a TCA peel? You are a candidate if you have fine lines, hyperpigmentations, blotchy skin, unevenness, acne, acne scars, superficial scars, blackheads or sun-damaged skin.
Healing: It will generally take up to 1 month fully heal from a TCA 30%-40% peel; however, your skin will be sensitive to the sun for approximately six months. 15% usually have minimal downtime but no sun for up to 10 days. 20% healing varies per patient, with some experiencing little to no downtime and others up to 7-10 days. But again, as with all TCA peels, we recommend treatments during the fall and winter months and limiting sun exposure post peel.
SkinMedica Vitalize Peel® is appropriate for patients with mild-to-moderate skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and texture. Vitalize Peel® treatments also address skin unevenness caused by acne scarring or other pigmentary changes.
Vitalize Peel Cost: $190.00
Rejuvenize Peel™ is appropriate for patients with moderate to severe skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and texture. Rejuvenize Peel™ also addresses skin unevenness caused by acne scarring or pigmentary changes.
